PokerStars has introduced the new Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) for 2009. In February 2009 PokerStars announced the Spring Championships along with its massive $30,000,000 total guaranteed prize pool. Along with the announcement came a tentative schedule for the 2009 SCOOP which includes 22 different events for all levels of stakes.
The 2009 PokerStars SCOOP runs from April 2nd till April 12th when the main event takes place. The SCOOP has an exciting schedule setup never seen before in online poker which allows players that are low stake players, medium stake players and high stake players to each play in their own event. Every SCOOP event has three separate tournaments running depending on what stakes the player chooses to play in. Buy-ins for the SCOOP events range from $5.50 for the low stakes up to over $10,000 for the high stakes.
For players who don’t have an account at PokerStars we are offering players a $50 bonus who use the PokerStars marketing code ‘KOW500’ when they are signing up for a new players account.
Players can find the SCOOP events in the lobby by clicking on ‘Events’ and then ‘SCOOP’. Players can choose to buy-in directly into the event or win a seat to events through a satellite. Satellites are running now at PokerStars, including cash satellites, FPP satellites and Steps Sit and Go qualifiers. The satellites are available in a range of different buy-in amounts starting very cheap.
The SCOOP tournament schedule includes three special events for the High-Rollers. There is a $10,300 buy-in HORSE event, a $25,500 NL Head Up Match and the $10,300 NL Main Event. Below are some events that PokerStars has announced for the 2009 SCOOP (PokerStars stated they may make changes):
